Assignment #5

for this assignment, i'm looking at the couple love and trying to use colours to represent how i feel that love is a very colourful thing which lights up everyone's life.

however, the letters "R" and "L" clashes with the background. if i had used black, the wordings will be more obvious but i wanted a softer touch so i sticked to white.

Assignment #4

for this assignment, we are supposed to come up with a poster relating to the theme "save, prevent, kill..."

then, my ideas for this assignment is about gambling, telling people to quit gambling. this came about because it is during the chinese new year when people usually start gambling. i've seen my friends sour-ing their friendships over losing money and borrowing money just to gamble, which was quite harmful to the relationships. so actually gambling can be very harmful, and if addicted, they can lose everything.


here, i inserted a picture of a gambling table and a guy which shows desperation. i'm not very satisfied with this one because the 2 images don't really goes well together and the words are not very visible too. but given a short time, this was what i could come up with. hope it will not be graded too badly.

for this assignment, I chose my Nalgene water bottle as the object. the bottle loses it's specific identity at the point of abstraction and then the generic identity follows.

here, i chose the simplest design from my sketches because i felt that it could best express my liking for basketball. so, there were simply 4 basketballs, but it was also quite plain.

my name is zhao and I hate falling sick. here, I tried to made use of medical instruments and some common medicine. they include the stethoscope, thermometer, capsules, panadol and a spiral. the spiral was meant for feeling of dizziness when one fell sick and things in their head go round and round.
